Hey there. I'm the mind—and the wheels—behind Wheels of Thought. I’m a sports-loving, food-obsessed, beach-hunting thinker in motion. I'm also a paraplegic. That’s not the headline of my story—it’s just part of the path I travel.
The beginning of my story starts in Vietnam, during a time of war and upheaval. I was born an orphan and brought to the United States in 1975 through Operation Babylift. The plane I was on crashed. I survived. That experience, and the life that followed, shaped everything—how I move through the world, what I pay attention to, and why I hold gratitude and reflection so close.
I was adopted and raised in the U.S., where I eventually earned a BA in Communications with a focus on rhetoric. I’ve always been drawn to the way ideas are shaped, how language influences thought, and how philosophy—especially the old-school kind—can still speak to us in modern life. I like asking questions more than giving answers. I like conversations that linger.
I also love food, especially when it’s shared. I love the ocean, especially when the sun’s low. I love sports, even when my role is in the stands. I value independence—not as something I had to prove, but as something I live by, with intention.
This blog is where I bring all those pieces together: personal stories, travel reflections, culinary experiments, and the occasional philosophical deep dive. It’s thoughtful, flavorful, a little salty, and always real.
So welcome. Take a breath, pull up a chair, and let’s roll.
“Freedom is the only worthy goal in life. It is won by disregarding things that lie beyond our control.”
